This position is a professional low voltage technical and installation role at Vision, working on construction sites, health care facilities, government facilities, and commercial and retail buildings.

Responsibilities
  • Foreman under the guidance of the Supervisor and Project Manager will be responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of low voltage cabling systems in multiple work environments, including construction and active facilities.
  • Provide necessary support to the Supervisor and assist in successful project implementation.
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service and deliver project installations according to the customer’s expectations.

  • Competent in Vision’s standards for quality installation craftsmanship and customer service excellence.
  • Competent in installation and termination of various copper and fiber products in accordance with TIA/EIA and BICSI standards.
  • Competent in testing and troubleshooting copper and fiber cable plant systems per TIA/EIA and BICSI standards.
  • Competent in directing team in assembling, installing, and securing cable trays, racks, and cabinets used in telecommunications closets.
  • Understand grounding and bonding principles as described in BICSI installation methods and able to properly bond cable trays and ground racks.
  • Knowledgeable in operation of Vision’s Cat5, Cat5E, Cat6 testers, including proper operation, saving, downloading, and storing test results.
  • Knowledgeable in operation of Vision’s fiber power meter testers, including proper operation and saving test results.
  • Knowledgeable in operation of an OTDR, including proper operation and saving test results.
  • Interpret test results from fiber and copper testers and troubleshoot/repair cabling to achieve valid tests.
Qualifications Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • BICSI and industry certifications preferred; knowledge of fiber and copper troubleshooting is needed.
  • Background check and driver's license check required.
  • Ability to lift various items, stand for long periods, and climb ladders.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs and climb ladders as required.
Years of Experience
  • 5–10 years.
Security Clearance
  • As needed.
Certifications
  • BICSI Installer 2 Copper / Fiber (preferred).
  • Industry manufacturer certifications (preferred).
  • OSHA safety certification 10/30 (preferred).
  • HILTI powder‑activated tools (preferred).
  • Confined Space certification (preferred).
  • Aerial Lift certification (preferred).
