Job Description

This is a fall 2026 internship. In this role you will support the Principal AI/ML Engineer. Your primary goal will be to advance space simulation and support AI development for the USSF costumer. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team comprised of AI engineers, modeling and simulation engineers, product owners, and program managers. Your primary responsibility will be to support development of artificial intelligence models that are integral to a larger pipeline and deliver value to our end customer.

The job is primarily to develop advanced AI to support space superiority analytics, multi-domain, joint service, and operation’s needs. These simulations will support force structure planning, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force testing and training, and research and development of space systems.

Job Responsibilities
  • Build software from source for different platforms using various compilers.
  • Develop acceptance, integration, and unit tests for a variety of technologies.
  • Develop new capabilities leveraging existing libraries.
  • Participate in software design meetings.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Perform issue backlog and board maintenance.
  • Provide execution plan and status report inputs.
  • Write user and developer documentation.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with between 20% and 40% of the required credits completed. Candidates must also have:

  • Interest in Space Operations
  • Solid Technical Writing Skills
  • Willingness to Tackle Difficult Problems
  • Willingness to Learn New Languages (e.g., AFscript)
Preferred Requirements
  • Knowledgeable in agent-based, event-driven simulators
  • Knowledgeable in at least on scripting language
  • Familiar using Git, Git Lab, JFrog Artifcatory, Jira, Confluence
