Job Summary
Family First Homecare provides exceptional in‑home nursing care to children with life‑long health conditions. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will deliver high‑quality, pediatric care in patients’ homes while adhering to company policies, state Nurse Practice Acts, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing services within the scope of practice.
- Maintain updated clinical records, meeting documentation deadlines.
- Evaluate effectiveness of nursing services and consult physicians on care plan alterations.
- Document changes in patient care and report to nurse supervisor.
- Mentor and coach new employees during orientation.
- Educate patients and caregivers on care needs.
- Participate in FFHC Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Continuously improve nursing care skills.
- Attend and complete mandatory training / in‑services as assigned.
- Submit required personnel file documentation on time.
- Adhere to FFHC compliance and ethics expectations.
- Maintain patient and family confidentiality.
- Communicate professionally, supportive, and responsively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required
- LPN/LVN nursing degree.
- Unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of employment or multi‑state license through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
- At least 1 year of demonstrated experience.
- Valid driver license with proof of insurance (where required).
- Clear background screening.
- Working knowledge of Nurse Practice Acts.
- Current CPR card/certificate with in‑person instructor‑led hands‑on skills check.
- Clear Hep B and TB screening (where applicable).
Preferred
- Experience with pediatric home‑care patients.
- Additional certifications (e.g., BLS, PALS).
- Florida – Driver license with insurance not required;
Hep B screening performed during onboarding. - Illinois – Staff prohibited from driving patients.
- Pennsylvania – Additional background screening for Child Abuse and FBI; TB screening with 2‑step PPD or 1‑step PPD with proof of 2‑step administration within last year.
- Texas – Not applicable.
