Job Description:

Guide students toward gaining essential knowledge and skills through developing a differentiated and personalized learning plan and instructional environment.

Qualifications:

* New York State Certification in Special Education, i.e., Students with Disabilities, All Grades (Preferred);
Students with Disabilities, 1-6;
Students with Disabilities, Birth-2

* Fingerprinting clearance required

Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to):

* Meet and teach assigned classes and caseload

* Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and supports all students

* Maintain accurate and complete records to track the progress of individual students

* Communicate with parents regarding the progress of individual students

* Experience with developing and implementing IEPs

* Provide related services and classroom modifications and accommodations as required on student IEPs

* Use assessment tools to guide instruction and monitor student progress

* Work with students with disabilities in the classroom and utilize IEP goals in planning instructional practices

* Ability to differentiate instruction and plan collaboratively with other teachers

* Broad knowledge of assessments and development of individualized programs

* Demonstrate a range of tools and techniques for effective classroom and behavior management

* Strive by instruction and action to implement the district's philosophy of education, instructional goals and objectives

* Complete other duties as assigned
