Assistant Warehouse Manager
The Assistant Warehouse Manager oversees daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe handling of materials and documentation. This role manages incoming and outgoing shipments, maintains accurate records in the ERP system, supports customers with order-related inquiries, and helps uphold a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Process all shipping and receiving activities accurately based on pick sheets and order requirements.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and potential damage, and report discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare outgoing orders, including packing, labeling, and verifying contents against documentation.
- Ensure all shipments include proper documentation and are processed in accordance with company procedures.
- Enter, update, and maintain shipment and inventory data within the ERP system (such as Sage 50).
- Use RF scanners and related warehouse technology to track and verify inventory and orders.
- Perform quality control checks and complete associated documentation to ensure product and process compliance.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, in a safe and responsible manner.
- Provide customer service support by handling inquiries and communicating order status and shipment details.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including adherence to cleanroom standards where required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment.
Essential Skills
- Prior experience in a shipping and receiving, warehouse, or logistics environment.
- Hands-on experience with pick sheets and order fulfillment processes.
- Experience working in quality control, including completing documentation accurately.
- Basic computer skills and experience with ERP systems, such as Sage 50 or similar platforms.
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required for shipping and receiving tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in processing orders and documentation.
- Good communication skills and the ability to provide effective customer service.
- Ability to follow safety policies and procedures in a warehouse or cleanroom environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using RF scanners for inventory and order tracking.
- Familiarity with ERP systems beyond Sage 50 is an asset.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Background in quality control within a cleanroom or controlled environment.
- Exposure to systems such as SAP or similar enterprise software is beneficial.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.

Work Environment
This role is based in a small company environment of approximately nine employees, fostering close collaboration and direct communication. The work takes place in a cleanroom and warehouse setting that emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The typical work schedule runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing a stable daytime shift. You will work with ERP systems such as Sage 50, RF scanners, and material handling equipment including forklifts, while following established procedures to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glen Cove, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $56000.00 - $62500.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
