Overview

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Serves as site supervisor of Youth Academy High School and Junior High Achievers programs (ages 10-18). The schedule for this position is M-F 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Summer Courses begin on Thursday June 4th through Friday, July 31st. Applicants should be available to start no later than June 1st. Preferred start date is on or before May 18th. Campus is closed 6/18;

6/19; 7/2; 7/3 and are not scheduled work days.

  • Coordinates and ensures the proper collection, recording student tracking information and filing of student required forms. Communicate with parents via email and phone to ensure that forms are completed and submitted.
  • Coordinates textbook rentals and maintain student records.
  • Create and maintain all classroom signage.
  • Collaborates with Program Coordinator to handle student attendance and disciplinary issues. Communicates with parent and appropriate college and/or partner representatives.
  • Coordinates with teaching staff to ensure teachers arrive on time and prepared for coursework. Responsible for making sure faculty have requested classroom supplies and materials.
  • Assists in the resolution of logistical issues. Contacts COD facilities and submits work orders as needed.
  • Responsible for sign-in and sign-out procedures with minors and guardians. Oversight of minors while on campus property.
  • Supports agreed upon accommodations for students with disabilities in courses on site, including additional time or reading aloud.
  • Responsible for being aware of all COD emergency protocols. Oversight of students during emergencies, including certain medical needs, evacuation procedures, or weather related issues.
  • Ensures that classrooms are unlocked and fully ready for use by instructors and students before the scheduled start of classes. Checks to make sure all classrooms are clean and doors locked after class.
  • Oversee high school youth aides and assigns lunch supervision duties. Assist with youth student supervision as needed.
  • Assist with transcript delivery, maintaining student records and filing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

  • HS Diploma required.
  • Preferred:
    Associates Degree

Experience

  • Previous youth programs experience for one (1) summer in an educational setting is required.
  • Preferred:
    Two (2) or more summer experiences in an educational setting.
Working Conditions

Traditional office environment: use of email, phone, computer, copy and fax machines. Position requires regular travel between campus buildings and classrooms throughout the day. This position requires a background check at the College's expense.
