Adjunct Faculty - Youth Academy High School Credit Algebra II - SU26
OverviewCollege of DuPage seeks adjunct faculty members to teach in the Youth Academy. The successful candidate will support student success in a multicultural environment and welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities. Opportunities may include a flexible schedule that may include teaching assignments during days, evenings and weekends.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdjunct Faculty instructors are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face‑to‑face, online, hybrid, and/or blended formats. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.
Required Qualifications- Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in the subject matter.
- Minimum two years’ experience teaching high school students is preferred.
- Current Illinois Professional Educator license is preferred. If applicant does not have a current IPEL, they must be able to obtain it before June 1st.
- Sessions are conducted in‑person at the Westmont Campus. Preferred applicants will have availability for both semesters.
- Access to personal technology, home computer with ability to respond to emails in a timely manner is required.
- Summer High School Credit course Algebra II with Trigonometry.
- Each semester course is a total of 60 contact hours.
- Classes begin on Thursday, June 4th through Friday, July 31st from 8 am to 12 pm.
- No classes 6/18; 6/19; 6/29 through 7/3.
- Pay rate is $45 per contact hour and $33.99 for approved course development hours.
- Required use of the LMS Blackboard.
- Pre‑employment background check at the College’s expense is required.
- Ability to teach remotely with technology and experience in online or virtual teaching is preferred.
- Positions are paid by stipends for course assignments.
