Adjunct Faculty, Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) - FA26
College of DuPage is committed to teaching and learning. We seek adjunct faculty members to teach Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) courses.
COD faculty are committed to facilitating and supporting student success and meeting the individual educational needs of our multicultural campus.
The successful adjunct candidate will be dedicated to teaching in a multicultural environment and welcome the opportunity to work with students of diverse learning abilities. Opportunities may exist for flexible schedules, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdjunct Faculty instructors at College of DuPage are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings. Courses may be conducted in face‑to‑face, online, hybrid, or blended formats. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation and the timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.
Required Qualifications- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing with BNA Instructor‑Train the Trainer Course Certification, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 4 CEU’s of approved Alzheimer’s Training, or MSN with 4 CEU’s of approved Alzheimer’s Training. (Any of these certifications is required.)
- Experience: Two years of experience as a registered nurse (RN). Must have experience as an RN in at least one of the following areas:
1) teaching theory in an accredited nursing training program; or
2) providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or chronically ill adults. - Licenses and
Certifications:
Active Illinois Registered Nurse License. Current AHA BLS healthcare provider certification.
- Ability to teach remotely with technology; experience in online or virtual teaching.
- Access to personal technology, home computer with appropriate capability to teach online.
Positions are paid by stipends for course assignments.
A pre‑employment background check at the College’s expense is required.
