Position: Adjunct Faculty, Eye Care Assistant and Ophthalmic Technician Program - SP26

Overview

This Adjunct Faculty position supports the Eye Care Assistant and Ophthalmic Technician Program at the College of DuPage. The College seeks adjunct faculty members to teach Eye Care Assistant and Ophthalmic Technician Program. Faculty are committed to student success, in a multicultural environment, and may teach on a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends. The position involves course planning, instruction, and student evaluation across multiple delivery modes (face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or blended).

Responsibilities
  • Plan courses and provide instruction in classroom, laboratory, or clinical settings.
  • Deliver instruction across various formats (face-to-face, online, hybrid, blended).
  • Evaluate students and submit required paperwork related to instruction in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications
  • Education
    : AAS Degree as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred from a formal accredited program or Bachelor s Degree.
  • Experience
    :
    At least 5 years of work experience in an Ophthalmology hospital system or clinic as a COA, COT, or COMT.
  • Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) Certification: COA or COT or COMT is required.
  • In-person instruction required on main campus, Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Ability to teach remotely with technology and experience in online or virtual teaching preferred. Access to personal technology and a home computer with the ability to teach online is required.
  • Positions are paid by stipends for course assignments. Pre-employment background check at the College s expense is required.
