Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAct as a system administrator for enterprise level applications. Develops new applications within supported systems. Completes maintenance tasks on client-side and server-side hardware and software and performs upgrades as needed. Provides technical support and training to end users at expert level. Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. Resolves most questions independently, including issues where only limited standardization exits. Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
- Serves as a system administrator for high availability enterprise services.
- Maintain systems by installing and patching application infrastructure components and administering application settings.
- Develops new applications within supported systems.
- Develop, deliver and maintain process documentation and end user training.
- Provides direction, coordination, and expert advice to Information Technology staff and end users in the resolution to technical issues.
- Provision user accounts and user security on supported systems.
- Work both independently and in a team environment on systems supported by the position.
- Develops programs in scripting languages.
- Assist in the design, build and configuration of supported systems.
- Participates in professional activities and keeps up to date with regard to developments in office and classroom technology.
- Participates on College-wide committees as appropriate.
- On call to assist in providing system support on a 24-hour basis.
- Troubleshoot enterprise system and application issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education
- As or AA degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience required.
- BS or BA degree in Computer Information Systems or other related field preferred.
- Experience
- Two years' providing support in a personal computing end user environment required.
- Experience administering enterprise level applications required.
- Expert knowledge of local area networks, hardware, software, and Windows networking administration tools required.
- Or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
- Four years' experience administering enterprise level applications preferred.
- Experience in providing support in a personal computing end user environment preferred.
- Two or more years' experience supporting any of the following:
Perceptive Content/Image Now, Windows Server, Apache Tomcat preferred. - Two or more years' experience programming with JavaScript, Power Shell, or other programming language preferred.
- Pleasant office environment.
- Varied working hours at odd times.
- Must be able to use telephone and a microcomputer.
- This position requires a background check and drug screen.
Yes (Weekly-Onsite presence required Glen Ellyn, IL) Hiring Range
11 Salary/Starting salary beginning at $66,487, based on education and experience.
Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
