Position Overview
Orlando Food Sales Inc. (OFS) is seeking a Retail Sales Manager to lead the launch and national expansion of premium Italian brands across U.S. retail channels. The role drives revenue growth, secures new retail partnerships, and executes go-to-market strategies that position the company for long‑term success. The position focuses on building distribution across national grocery chains and independent specialty retailers, developing strong relationships with retail buyers and distributors.
It is a highly entrepreneurial role that requires strategic vision and hands‑on execution. Based in Northern New Jersey, it is an in‑office role with a willingness to travel nationally (~30–50%) for customer meetings, trade shows, and market visits. The position reports directly to the VP of Retail Development.
- Drive distribution and revenue growth across national and regional grocery chains, as well as independent and specialty retailers
- Identify, target, and secure new retail accounts and business opportunities
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective customers and partners
- Deliver compelling sales presentations and category insights to retail buyers
- Develop and execute strategies to win new placements and expand shelf presence
- Lead national launch initiatives for Olitalia EVOO and Caputo Specialty Flour
- Define target channels, retailers, and priority markets
- Collaborate with Marketing on brand positioning, storytelling, and promotional strategies
- Utilize market and category data (e.g., Circana) to develop persuasive retail selling stories
- Execute go‑to‑market strategies that drive awareness, trial, and repeat purchase
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers and distributors
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and promotional agreements
- Ensure effective in‑store execution, including placement, merchandising, and velocity
- Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for growth and optimization
- Partner with Marketing on promotions, trade shows, and brand assets
- Work with Supply Chain on inventory planning, forecasting, and product availability
- Collaborate with Customer Experience on order execution and trade promotion tracking
- Align with leadership on strategy, reporting, and performance objectives
- Monitor category trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics
- Analyze performance data to inform sales strategy and decision‑making
- Provide insights to refine product assortment, pricing, and promotional effectiveness
- Maintain strong commercial discipline around margins and trade spend
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
Experience:
- 7–12+ years of CPG sales experience
- Proven success selling into retail grocery chains (regional or national)
- Experience working with independent and specialty retailers
- Background in specialty food, imported food, or premium grocery strongly preferred
- Experience launching or scaling a brand is a plus
Communication:
- Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to effectively engage with retail buyers, distributors, and internal stakeholders
