Responsibilities- Review and evaluate cost estimates.
- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Maintain cost database by entering and backing up data.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating, specifically in commercial and industrial HVAC piping and plumbing projects.
- Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn new software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical concepts and principles.
- In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
- Exquisite math and IT ability with an analytical mindset.
- Proficient in relevant software (e.g., Trimble Aut Our Clientd or similar).
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
- Thoroughness and reliability with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Mechanical Estimator to join our team. This role is integral to our success in the construction industry, focusing primarily on commercial and industrial HVAC piping and plumbing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. The role also involves assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
