In this onsite contract role spanning the academic year, you’ll work as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a structured classroom environment designed for high-incidence needs. Your focus will be on making a positive, lasting difference for five elementary-aged students, with the support of two dedicated paraprofessionals. You’ll collaborate with other education professionals to cultivate a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning space near Glendale Heights, IL.
Qualifications:
- Current and active Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (essential)
- Prior experience teaching students with high-incidence disabilities strongly preferred
- Comfortable with behavior management and supporting students with varying needs
- Willingness to assist with toileting as required
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to IEP goals for a caseload of 5 students
- Work effectively alongside 2 paraprofessionals in the classroom
- Implement behavior support strategies and manage classroom routines
- Adapt curriculum and instruction to promote engagement and academic progress
- Monitor, document, and communicate student growth, maintaining accurate records
- Partner with related service providers and families to support student success
Contract Details:
- Duration:
August 11, 2026 – May 24, 2027 - Weekly commitment: 35 hours
- Onsite campus setting, working directly with students and staff
