Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in an onsite, full-time contract role spanning the academic year. This opportunity places you in a dynamic environment, delivering specialized instruction to learners in both a middle school and two elementary school settings. Qualifications

& Experience Sought:
  • Possess an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings
  • Strong understanding of IEP implementation and best instructional practices for DHH populations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Familiarity with current assistive technology and accommodations for DHH learners
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide itinerant support across a caseload that includes one middle school and two elementary schools
  • Develop and deliver engaging, individualized instruction designed for students with varying levels of hearing loss
  • Assess student needs, track progress, and contribute to IEP development and meetings
  • Collaborate effectively with general education staff, related service providers, and families to foster student success
  • Implement accommodations and advocate for access within general education environments
  • Maintain thorough, compliant documentation and address student goals consistently
