Position SummaryThe Divisional Controller is responsible for the financial leadership, accounting integrity, and reporting accuracy of a manufacturing division. Reporting to the Site General Manager with a dotted-line relationship to the Parent Company CFO, this role oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The position serves as the primary financial partner to site leadership while maintaining strong compliance, process discipline, and operational support.
PositionResponsibilities
- Oversees all accounting operations, including general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll coordination, and operational accounting
- Leads monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with GAAP
- Prepares and reviews financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting
- Partners with the Site General Manager to support operational performance and cost control
- Develops annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitoring performance against plan
- Maintains internal controls, accounting policies, and procedural documentation
- Oversees job and process costing responsibilities
- Serves as key financial owner of the ERP and accounting systems
- Mentors and supervises accounting and administrative staff
- Coordinates audits and financial reporting within corporate finance
- Supports cash management and working capital initiatives
- Ensures consistent adherence to monthly and quarterly deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CMA a plus
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing exposure in discreet and standard costing environments
- Commitment to principle-centered leadership, accuracy, and accountability
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate in a smaller organization
- ERP system experience within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to meet recurring reporting deadlines
