Sr. Applications Manager

The Senior Applications Manager will lead our application development, deployment, and support functions. This role will oversee all aspects of application management, including software development, agile project management, Dev Ops, quality control, and training for a 250M+ company. The ideal candidate should be proficient in SQL databases, C#, and data reporting/visualization tools such as Tableau, SSIS, and SSRS. This position also involves leading the team through test case development, quality assurance, and user training to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable applications aligned with business goals.

Finally, this individual will be highly organized and able to create plans and manage projects.

• Lead and manage the application development team, fostering a collaborative and agile environment
• Create plans, executing the plan and refining as required
• Oversee the entire application lifecycle, including development, deployment, and support, to ensure stability, quality, and continuous improvement
• Implement and manage Dev Ops processes to streamline development, deployment, and integration, enhancing operational efficiency
• Design and conduct test cases and quality control measures to ensure applications meet functional, performance, and security standards
• Write and assist in writing user stories, test cases, and training materials
• Take ownership of the Azure Dev Ops work management system, lead the morning standup sessions
• Evaluate existing systems and workflows, making recommendations for upgrades or process improvements
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define application requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
• Develop, manage, and optimize data models and workflows, including data integration processes
• Ensure accurate, comprehensive documentation of application systems, including user guides, technical manuals, and training materials
• Conduct end-user training sessions and create training materials to maximize adoption and effective application use
• Implement and maintain best practices for software development, quality assurance, and testing within an agile framework
• Manage third-party vendors related to software products and services, ensuring that applications meet business requirements and compliance standards
• Oversee application support activities, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly and root cause analyses are conducted for continuous improvement
• Monitor application performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing fixes or enhancements as needed
• Manage budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities within application development and maintenance
