Role Description

The Lead Water Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Glendale Heights, IL. This role is responsible for overseeing water damage mitigation projects, including assessment of affected areas, setup and operation of drying and dehumidification equipment, and monitoring progress to industry standards. The Lead Water Technician coordinates a field team, assigns tasks, ensures proper safety protocols, and maintains clear communication with customers, project managers.

Daily responsibilities include documenting job conditions, taking moisture readings, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate records for billing and compliance. The role also involves training technicians on best practices, supporting emergency response calls, and upholding Legacy Restoration’s commitment to quality, efficiency, and customer care.

Qualifications
  • Strong technical skills in water damage mitigation and water treatment, with practical experience in assessing and resolving water-related property damage.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance related to restoration, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of pumps, dehumidifiers, air movers, and related tools.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes or handling of contaminated water, including basic safety, disposal procedures, and regulatory awareness.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers, team members, and partners, including clear documentation and reporting throughout each project.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in restoration, construction, or a related field, with the ability to train and mentor technicians.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IICRC guidelines) and safety practices, including use of PPE and adherence to OSHA requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, with the ability to respond to emergency calls and work flexible hours as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in water damage restoration or related disciplines are strongly preferred.
