Job DescriptionThe Driver II has a CDL and may drive a bus, shuttle van, straight truck, or boat–hauling vehicle. Drivers holding a Class B CDL drive vehicles under 26,000 lb such as passenger buses or straight trucks with air brakes or combination vehicles. Drivers holding a Class C CDL drive non‑air‑brake passenger buses. Drivers are required to operate in an efficient, consistent, safe, and timely service.

COMPENSATION:
The hourly rate for this position is $16.50 to $28.93.

- Must complete a daily vehicle inspection form prior to driving and after finishing the route.
- Ensure a pleasant and clean atmosphere is always maintained in and out of the vehicle.
- Apply all safety equipment available, always wear seat belt when driving.
- Operate company vehicle weighing under 26,000 lb (GVW) transporting passengers or supplies and equipment to and from designated locations.
- Drive defensively, safely, and cautiously in all situations.
- Provide exceptional customer service when encountering guests, always representing the company positively.
- Punch up and drop off guests at designated locations.
- For passenger transport, be highly knowledgeable about the property and surrounding areas, acting as a concierge resource.
- May lift guest luggage weighing up to 80 lb into the vehicle.
- Fuel, clean, and inspect vehicle as required.
- Identify maintenance and safety issues, take correct corrective steps, and report malfunctions immediately.
- Complete vehicle logbooks properly, including rider‑ship information log.
- Work with Transportation Office dispatcher to ensure special and group requests are fulfilled.
- May be assigned to warehouse driving, safely and promptly transporting equipment.
- May perform maintenance and safety inspections on service trucks, pickups, trailers, and other vehicles, including checking and changing oil, tires, lights, and general condition.
- Take vehicle to car wash when necessary.
- May assist with clerical work, answering phones, dispatching, and other office duties.
- Dry Storage Drivers may sell and dispense propane, following federal dispensing laws, and dispensing only into bottles with OPD under 10 lb.
- These drivers may also be required to operate a cash register, handling cash, traveler’s checks, and credit cards safely and accurately.
- Understand the machinery and chemicals used.
- Be aware of SDS sheets and books and use this information when necessary.
- Attend all scheduled department and safety meetings.
- Share ideas to improve efficiency and operations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies, energy, and road rules.
- Must be age 21 years or older.
- At least 1 year professional driving experience and vehicle mechanical experience preferred, along with customer service experience.
- Must communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- Must hold a valid Commercial Driver License (Class B or
C) with a clean driving record showing 5 years of prior safe driving. - Must pass a DOT physical examination and obtain a medical card.
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug/alcohol test and participate in a random testing pool.
- Must complete and pass a Defensive Driving Course before driving a company vehicle.
- May be required to hold a passenger endorsement or air‑brake endorsement to drive all vehicles.
- Experience driving in all weather conditions, including winter weather and tire chain installation.
- Equipment used:
Company Vehicle, Walkie‑Talkie, Hand Truck, Computer, Photocopier, Printer, Telephone. - Travel requirements:
Little or no travel required (less than 10%). - The role may involve physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing, and may require uniforms and/or personal protective equipment (PPE).
