Compensation: $85k - $105k + 10% annual bonus + 4 weeks PTO (Plus additional Friday 1x per month) + 401k contribution (9%)
OverviewOur client, a large and complex organization with significant capital investment activity, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support capital asset accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This role offers extensive cross-functional exposure, technical accounting responsibilities, and the opportunity to partner with operational and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities- Support capital asset accounting and reporting activities from project initiation through asset disposal.
- Partner with project management and operational teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting for capital projects.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual capital asset reporting, including variance analysis and financial reporting support.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial analysis, reporting, and business support related to capital spending and projects.
- Assist with the development and enhancement of accounting processes and internal controls to improve efficiency and ensure compliance.
- Support audit requirements and financial reporting needs related to capital assets and fixed assets.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on accounting operations, reporting, and data quality.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and financial reporting responsibilities.
- Strong background in capital asset accounting, fixed assets, audit support, and financial reporting.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of IFRS and familiarity with U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with large ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Utility, infrastructure, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industry experience preferred.
