The Student Worker - Assistant to the Provost serves ACU by assisting the provost office in administrative duties, serving as a TA in a class taught by a member of the provost office, and assisting at events (such as graduation). The Assistant 's primary work station is at the entryway to the ACU faculty area and they serve as a greeter and host for the many visitors to the academic wing of the administration building.
The Assistant is responsible for keeping student grades confidential and for abiding by FERPA policies.
This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Primary Duties- Be prepared to respondprofessionallyand graciously to guests, faculty, staff, and students seeking information, directions, a meeting with the provost office, or support.
- Assist in administrative tasks
- Help maintain the infrastructure and environment of the academic wing
- Follow FERPA policies and keep student grades and academic progress confidential
- Be direct and kind with students and possess good interpersonal communication skills
- Communicate regularly with the provost office
- Input time worked for compensation purposes
- Conduct oneself with utmost integrity and professionalism
- Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.
- Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
- The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
- Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ as well as a commitment to ACU's Statement of Faith and Core values
- Must be currently enrolled as a student at ACU.
- Possess good interpersonal communication skills
- Available to work up to fifteen hours per week
- Current student of ACU in good standing - SAP
- Must complete a FAFSA
This position is part-time, non-exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws.
