Construction Estimating Project Engineer

• Assist estimators by quantifying elements of construction using PDF plans, 2D CAD files, and 3D models; scopes of work typically include concrete structures, light rail trackwork, mass earthworks, roadways, highways, aviation, facilities site work, and underground utilities.
• Generate earthwork volumes using PDF plans or 3D models; calculate volumes using end‑of‑area or volume methods.
• Use Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets that calculate, compare, and summarize quantities of construction materials.
• Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications; understand scope, constraints, tolerances, and material types.
• Complete takeoffs using partially complete or in‑progress design documents; visualize the general intent on incomplete drawings.
• Coordinate with other takeoff personnel to facilitate accurate quantity comparison in a timely manner.
• Maintain a realistic schedule and gauge effort required to complete tasks.
• Maintain organized records of working drawings and takeoff summaries.
• Identify missing design elements or overlaps with other disciplines.
• Create exhibits for review that show takeoff assumptions and communicate what has been included or excluded.

Compensation: $30.00 - $42.00 per hour.

Phoenix, AZ (commute to office required).

• Previous estimating experience in the construction industry.
