Overview
Full-time. The Scholarship Coordinator supports the direct facilitation, administration, outreach, and ongoing success of a scholarship program designed to expand educational and career opportunities for individuals seeking higher education and professional level job training. This role is responsible for coordinating the scholarship’s application and selection processes, resident communication, awareness and promotion efforts, budget tracking, monitoring of essential data points, and supporting the long‑term impact of the scholarships on Rainbow’s communities.
The Scholarship Coordinator serves as both an operational leader and relationship builder, helping ensure scholarship opportunities are accessible, well‑managed, mission‑centered, and aligned with organizational goals around education, upward mobility, and resident success.
Responsibilities- Coordinate day‑to‑day operations of scholarship programs.
- Manage scholarship application timelines, submissions, and review processes.
- Maintain accurate records of applicants, recipients, funding allocations, and outcomes.
- Assist in developing scholarship policies, eligibility criteria, and program procedures.
- Track deadlines for applications, renewals, verification documents, and reporting requirements.
- Support scholarship selection committees and scheduling of review meetings.
- Host scholarship application trainings for Residents to best prepared for the application process.
- Support “denied” resident scholarship applicants in re‑applying and improving their application.
- Increase the quantity of completed Rainbow Scholarship applications each scholarship cycle.
- Source and identify external scholarship opportunities and programs for Rainbow communities.
- Work closely with the scholarship management platform and the account representatives.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Services, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination, education support, scholarship administration, resident services, nonprofit operations, or community engagement preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work compassionately and professionally with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.
- Experience with reporting platforms such as Apricot, CRM systems, or data tracking tools preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and responsiveness.
- Passion for educational advancement and economic mobility.
- Strong relationship‑building and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Self‑motivated with strong follow‑through and problem‑solving abilities.

- Experience working with low‑income individuals, families, youth, or underserved populations preferred.
- Ability to oversee and operate a variety of scholarship‑based programs at the same time.
