Job Summary

The Technology and Operations Specialist (Tech and Ops Specialist) is responsible for maintaining the daily operational needs of the student and staff technology devices. The Tech and Ops Specialist will support the school through managing library operations, supporting the SIS grading process, and managing campus inventory process including the library and other items requiring tracking.

Essential Functions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates and supervises the library to which assigned and manages the library information system.
  • Supervises the check-out and check-in system and works to safeguard library materials.
  • Orders library materials to supplement the instructional program with the assistance of the Library Facilitator.
  • Makes library materials available to supplement the instructional program.
  • Inform teachers and other staff members concerning new materials that the library acquires.
  • Provides instruction on the use of the library resources.
  • Set up of student and staff technology equipment.
  • May assume responsibility for the storage, check-out, inventory and arrangements for care, maintenance of equipment.
  • Ability to become knowledgeable of all facets of the entire student information system.
  • Provides continuous training for all users of the student information system, including administrators, clerical staff, counselors, etc.
  • Provides programs for data exchange between student information systems and other applications.
  • Manages and maintains the school-level features and data of the student information system.
  • Assists in the design of programs, tests/debugs programs, and maintains detailed documentation records.
  • Works with users and determines precise needs, develops and assists IMT department in facilitating needed changes to the student information system.
  • Updates staff on enhancements, changes, and modifications to the system.
  • Documents and reports problems and issues to district IMT support staff.
  • Conducts inventories of school equipment as needed.
  • Attends all required training, as designated by the District.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable grants management.
  • Knowledge of applicable Peoria Unified School District and departmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED AND the equivalent of two years of college or passing a certified paraprofessional examination.

Experience supporting technology and software implementations.

In addition, experience working in a library setting preferred.

Other Requirements
  • Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours.
  • Must have at the time of application and must maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.
  • May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 21 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, twist, kneel and climb ladders.
