Instructional Technologist 1 is a position within the Instructional Design and Technology family. This role is full time with a salary range of $46,300 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience.

The Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation (MLFC) is seeking an Instructional Designer Associate to join a dynamic team focused on digital learning. This entry-level position involves assisting with the development and maintenance of online courses and digital materials using best practices in teaching and learning.

MLFC is dedicated to the design and scalable delivery of digital teaching and learning models to enhance student success and reduce barriers in higher education.

Essential duties include:

• Partnering with digital learning team members to develop digital learning materials using instructional design principles
• Leading the provision and configuration of courses during the course deployment process
• Participating in the quality assurance process for courses and learning materials
• Editing instructional and supporting materials for grammar, clarity, consistency, and accuracy of the content
• Working both independently and interdependently within a team-based model to produce desired outcomes
• Engaging in special projects and professional development initiatives individually or with colleagues

Desired qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Three years of experience in a related field
• Demonstrated experience working in Canvas/LMS environments to develop online materials
• Demonstrated experience developing learning materials, including job aids, online tutorials, and other instructional or learning materials using online pedagogical approaches, practices, and tools
• Demonstrated experience exploring, evaluating, and experimenting with new learning techniques and technologies and seizing new opportunities for enhancing learning
• Demonstrated experience working closely with faculty and administrators in a higher education environment
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and prioritizing competing demands to meet established timelines

The working environment includes:

• Activities performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
• Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds
• Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
• Evidence of effective communication
• MLFC supports flexible work options for certain positions, such as alternate work schedules and hybrid remote, subject to approvals per ASU policy
