Special Education Instructional Assistant

Behavior Rx is searching for Instructional Assistants/Paraprofessionals to work with children in self-contained ASD classes in the Phoenix and surrounding areas with special needs. As an Instructional Assistant/Paraprofessional you will be working with students who have a need for emotional support, behavioral redirection and help with academic support. • Arizona fingerprint clearance card
• CPR Certified
• 6 months of experience working with children
• Patient personality
• Required to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.
• Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.

• Work with Teacher to promote positive student behavior by providing positive behavior support.
• Supervise students to ensure a non‑threatening, safe, nurturing environment where students can thrive.
• Prepares classrooms for activities including setting up tables and chairs and handing out materials.
• Works with special education students individually or in groups on special projects or assignments such as academic, social, emotional, functional, language, and behavior skills and activities of daily living.
• Demonstrates skills and techniques in order to aid in student learning.
• Monitors student behavior and enforces school and classroom standards and policies.

Job Type: Full‑time

Pay: $17.00 – $22.50 per hour
