Assistant Professor - Generation and Regeneration of Complex Tissues
This full‑time, tenure‑track assistant professor position in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University seeks a candidate with research experience in the molecular, cellular, and genetic mechanisms of stem cell biology, regeneration, and development of complex tissues. The expected start date is August 16, 2026.
Applicants are encouraged to use cutting‑edge approaches and to develop a nationally recognized research program. The position will be part of an institutional initiative and planned cluster of hires to advance the field of development and regeneration of complex tissues in collaboration with the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering.
The School of Life Sciences is part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and offers a collaborative research environment, shared state‑of‑the‑art facilities, and opportunities to work with university‑wide centers and partner institutions in the Phoenix area.
Essential Functions- Establish a productive, nationally recognized research program.
- Acquire extramural funding at the level necessary to support the research program.
- Publish in appropriate journals in the field of expertise.
- Teach in person and/or online, including cell biology, genetics, developmental biology, or related courses.
- Provide service to the school, college, university, and community, and professional organizations commensurate with 20 % effort.
- Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in developmental biology, molecular and cellular biology, stem cell biology, or related field.
- Postdoctoral or equivalent experience.
- Record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals commensurate with career stage.
- Interest in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Evidence of success in obtaining grants and/or fellowships commensurate with career stage.
- Participation in collaborative research.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with faculty, staff, students, and communities to advance the principles of the ASU Charter.
