Full-Time Faculty Civil Engineering - College of Engineering and Technology
Grand Canyon University, located in Phoenix, Arizona. The college seeks a full‑time faculty member to teach Civil Engineering on the main campus.
LocationGCU's Main Campus, 33rd Ave. and Camelback, Phoenix, Arizona.

- A nine‑month faculty role teaching starting August 2026.
- Equip students with the required skill set, facilitate classroom discussions, assess student performance, and prepare them to be successful leaders.
- Teach undergraduate courses within the major and mentor and assist undergraduate majors in electrical engineering outside classroom hours.
- Assist administration in driving curriculum design & development.
- Work with leadership on strategic planning initiatives advancing engineering education.
- Develop and administer forward‑thinking short‑ and long‑term plans for development and growth.
- Assist the university in building a solid foundation for growth of engineering programs.
- Foster and promote diversity and collegiality among faculty, students, and staff and advocate for change.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry to support internships, project collaborations, industrial mentoring and capstone projects.
- Assist the dean in developing internal and external communities that promote the major field of study, college, and university.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution.
- An active Professional Engineer License (PE) in any state.
- Extensive, advanced, and current knowledge of Civil Engineering, specifically in one of the following sub‑disciplines – Traffic Engineering, Urban Planning, Water Resources, or a closely related field.
- Able to teach related coursework in Civil Engineering.
- Ability to articulate a clear understanding of values‑based education from a Christian perspective.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
- Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, or a similar degree, from a regionally accredited institution.
- 3–5 years of engineering teaching experience.
- Familiarity with higher education, curriculum planning, best teaching and administrative practices, or a record of excellence in teaching.
- Understanding of the various methods of adult learning.
