Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Firearms Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing firearms training services to our clients. In this role, you will conduct training sessions and teach firearm safety, handling, and shooting techniques. UDT utilizes a state‑of‑the‑art threat‑based simulator to teach our members, along with reality‑based force‑on‑force training and indoor and outdoor live‑fire training.

Responsibilities
  • Instruct members using UDT's threat‑based reality simulator.
  • Teach force‑on‑force and self‑defense training courses.
  • Conduct firearms training sessions for individuals and groups, including basic safety, handling, and shooting techniques.
  • Teach proper firearm safety rules and protocols to ensure all participants are aware of potential hazards.
  • Maintain training equipment and the facility.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and secure range environment during training sessions.
  • Evaluate participants' performance and provide feedback to help them improve their skills.
  • Stay current with industry developments, new equipment, and training techniques to keep sessions up‑to‑date and effective.
Qualifications
  • Ability to learn and adhere to UDT's extensive curriculum.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a firearms instructor, law enforcement officer, or prior military.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of firearm safety and handling protocols.
  • Familiarity with a variety of firearms and their operation.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable working in an outdoor range environment.
  • Possess necessary certifications and licenses for instructing.
  • Outgoing and engaging with members.
Schedule / Expected Work Hours

Full time: 40 Hours Per Week

  • Weekday mornings or afternoons
  • Weekends
  • Evening shifts
Part Time

You can generally be expected to work 16 – 20 hours a week. Common part‑time work schedules include:

  • Evening shifts
