Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained & Resource) - Peoria, AZ
We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers for multiple school-based opportunities throughout the Peoria, Arizona area. Openings are available in both Self-Contained and Resource classroom settings, supporting students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs. These roles offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized instruction and fostering student growth in an inclusive educational environment.
Simple Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Active Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate
- Arizona Department of Education certification/licensure as required
- Previous school-based or special education experience preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational teams
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized instruction based on student needs
- Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification;

Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred - Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
