This is a non-tenured, faculty position which is responsible for assessment of didactic andclinicaleducationforthe

Dean’soffice.

This position requires a Ph.D. or D.O. from an accredited college in an appropriate field. The Associate Deanfor Academic Affairsmustremaincurrentinhis /herfieldofeducation and demonstrate proven experience in teaching and academic leadership in medical education.

Dutiesand

Responsibilitiesfallinto4categories.

Theseareteaching,research, service, and administration:

• Provideafacultydevelopmentplantothe Deanannually.
• Participateinteachingstudentsinhis/herareaofexpertise.
• ReviewCOMLEXperformancewithAZCOMfacultyonanannualbasis.
• UpdateCOMLEXperformancedataontheAZCOMFastFactswebsite annually.
• FacilitateremediationofstudentswhofailanysectionofCOMLEX.
• Providestudentperformancedatatothe Curriculum Committeetoassistwith  course reviews.
• Assistthe Associate Deanfor Curricular Integration and Faculty Development  with assessment of pre-clinical academic student performance.
• Assistthe Associate Deanfor Clinical Educationwithassessmentofclinical  and post-rotation examination student performance.
• Assist the Associate Dean for Clinical Education with tracking of residency placementresults,residencyprogramdirectorsurveys,alumnisurveys,and other data collected relating to student performance.
• Oversee the Director of Assessment and support the Dean with the managementofstudentsonleavesofabsencetoensuretheystayontrack for graduation and residency placement.
• Assist Associate Dean for Clinical Education with maintenance of the Residency Placement Match Toolandfacultydevelopmentonitsusefor  student advising.

• Participate and mentor clinical faculty in educational and/or other research. Participation is best documented through publication in peer-reviewed journals,butmayalsobedemonstratedthroughprovisionoflecturesatlocal ornationalclinicalorscientificconferences,presentationatposterprograms, NBOME question writing, or submission of applications for grants.
• SupervisestudentsinresearchprojectssupportedbytheAZCOMDean’s Office.
• Supportfacultymembersinthe Department of Clinical Education in  developing their research.

• Participate on University and college committeesasassigned,including,but notlimitedto

  Committee,andClinicaland Preclinical Promotions  Committees.
• Participate in Admissionsasan interviewer.
• Present Admissionstalksonbehalfofthe Dean.
• ParticipateintheAZCOMportionof
  
  Orientation.
• HelptoplangraduationactivitiesforAZCOMstudents.
• Participateinfacultydevelopmentprogrammingasapresenter.
• Assistthe Deanandothermembersoftheteamwith Medical Student  Performance Evaluations annually.
• RepresentAZCOMfacultyateducationalmeetings.

• Superviseanddevelopfacultyandstaffinthe Department of Assessment .
• Assistpreceptordevelopmentthroughfeedbackfrom Preceptor Report  Card.
• Advisefacultyinthe Department of Assessmentregardingpromotioninrank  advancement.
• OverseeanddevelopAZCOM’sDepartmentof
  
  Assessmentbudgetannually.
• Doperformanceevaluationsannuallyforallfacultyandstaffreportingtothe Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
• Assistwithannualupdateofthe Midwestern University ,Arizona Collegeof Osteopathic Medicine catalog and AZCOM website.
• AssistinthedevelopmentofannualAACOMreports.
• Assistthe
  
  DeanwithaccreditationcomplianceforAZCOM,including all required annual and mid-cycle reporting.
• AssistwithannualMWUoutcomesassessmentprogramming.
• ManageAZCOMexitandalumni surveys.
• Otherdutiesasassigned bythe Dean.
