Job Description

Job Summary

The Playground Supervisor is responsible for supervising students during recess and other designated supervision times, ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive behavior of all students. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, enjoys working with children, and is able to foster a safe, respectful, and positive school environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during recess and lunch periods, ensuring their safety and monitoring behavior in accordance with school rules.
  • Help students resolve conflicts and encourage positive social interactions.
  • Maintain a visible and active presence on the playground and in lunch areas.
  • Follow school procedures and respond appropriately to student needs or incidents.
  • Report any concerns, injuries, or behavioral issues to teachers and/or school administration.
  • Interact courteously and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate reliability by arriving on time and maintaining consistent attendance.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by school administration.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
  • Ability to enforce school rules in a fair and consistent manner
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Positive attitude and enjoyment working with children
  • Willingness to support the mission and philosophy of a Catholic school
  • Safe Environment Training
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
  • Bachelor’s degree
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Working Conditions

This position is based in a school environment and includes outdoor supervision during various weather conditions.
