Job DescriptionJob Summary
The Playground Supervisor is responsible for supervising students during recess and other designated supervision times, ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive behavior of all students. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, enjoys working with children, and is able to foster a safe, respectful, and positive school environment.
Hours- Monday – Friday: 10:20 - 12:20
Principal
Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise students during recess and lunch periods, ensuring their safety and monitoring behavior in accordance with school rules.
- Help students resolve conflicts and encourage positive social interactions.
- Maintain a visible and active presence on the playground and in lunch areas.
- Follow school procedures and respond appropriately to student needs or incidents.
- Report any concerns, injuries, or behavioral issues to teachers and/or school administration.
- Interact courteously and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate reliability by arriving on time and maintaining consistent attendance.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by school administration.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
- Ability to enforce school rules in a fair and consistent manner
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Positive attitude and enjoyment working with children
- Willingness to support the mission and philosophy of a Catholic school
- Safe Environment Training
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
Preferred:
- Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
This position is based in a school environment and includes outdoor supervision during various weather conditions.
