As an In-House Substitute Teacher, you will provide instruction and classroom leadership in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You will ensure continuity of learning while fostering a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for students.

• Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher to maintain a consistent learning experience for students.
• Deliver instruction and facilitate learning activities appropriate to the grade level and subject area.
• Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and minimizes distractions.
• Manage classroom routines, procedures, and student behavior in accordance with school policies and expectations.
• Adapt instructional strategies and activities to meet the individual needs of students.
• Provide in-class assignments and, when applicable, at-home assignments based on the lesson plans and materials provided.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including hallways, playgrounds, cafeteria, and other designated areas.
• Ensure the safety and well‑being of students at all times.
• Support students in following classroom, school‑wide, and behavioral expectations.
• Communicate student concerns, classroom issues, and relevant observations to the appropriate teacher or school administrator.
• Maintain appropriate classroom records and documentation as required.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure a successful school day for students.
• For long‑term substitute assignments, develop lesson plans, instructional activities, and assignments that align with the regular teacher's curriculum and instructional practices.
• Participate in school‑wide events, scheduled meetings, and other school activities as assigned.
