Lead Teacher

Company Description Sunrise Preschools is an early childhood education and childcare organization operating 29 centers across the greater Phoenix area, serving children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Since 1982, Sunrise has partnered with families to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning through child-centered, developmentally appropriate programs. The curriculum is aligned with Arizona’s Infant & Toddler Developmental Guidelines and Early Learning Standards, focusing on social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. Sunrise exceeds state standards for kindergarten readiness through ongoing teacher training, professional development, curriculum improvements, and national accreditation.
Role Description The Lead Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Peoria, AZ. This position is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that support school readiness and whole-child development. The Lead Teacher creates a safe, engaging classroom environment, guides small and large group instruction, and monitors children’s progress through observation and documentation. Daily responsibilities include communicating with families, collaborating with team members, maintaining classroom organization, and ensuring adherence to licensing, safety, and accreditation standards.

The Lead Teacher also participates in ongoing training and professional development to support high-quality early childhood education.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Education and Teaching
  , with experience in early childhood or elementary settings.
• Demonstrated ability in Lesson Planning and curriculum implementation aligned with developmental guidelines and standards.
• Excellent Communication skills for engaging with children, families, and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.
• Experience in staff and child Training
  , coaching, or mentoring to support continuous learning in the classroom.
• Relevant education such as a CDA, associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or progress toward such credentials).
• Knowledge of child development, classroom management, and positive guidance strategies.
• Ability to meet state licensing requirements, including background checks and health/safety clearances.
• Commitment to inclusion, cultural responsiveness, and creating supportive learning environments for all children.
