What You Will Be DoingWe are currently seeking a dedicated Aircraft Mechanic to focus on the F‑35 aircraft. The role serves as a subject‑matter expert on all facets of maintenance operations on the F‑35 airframe as part of a Quick‑Response Team designed to support pop‑up tasking and operations anywhere in the world. The incumbent will travel frequently (over 50% travel) and often be called on short notice as maintenance events occur.
When not traveling, the mechanic will support the larger Interim Contractor Support (ICS) infrastructure at an existing F‑35 site. The position requires maintaining flight line driver competency and holding a US citizenship with an Interim/Secret clearance throughout the duration.
- Frequent travel (over 50%) to support maintenance events at a global scale.
- Act as subject‑matter expert on all maintenance aspects of the F‑35 airframe within a Quick‑Response Team.
- Assist F‑35 customers/partners in returning aircraft to an airworthy condition and increasing aircraft availability.
- Support the Interim Contractor Support infrastructure at an existing F‑35 site when not traveling.
- Maintain flight line driver competency card and comply with all safety, tool control, and security programs.
- Meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive movements.
- Obtain and maintain an Interim/Secret clearance throughout the duration of the assignment.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on F‑35 maintenance experience, including familiarity with the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) and related components such as the Anomaly Fault Resolution System and Joint Technical Data Navigation.
- At least 4 years of hands‑on experience in a 5‑ or 7‑skill level USAF AFSC, CDI/CDQAR Navy NEC, or CDI/CDQAR United States Marine Corps, or equivalent on a fighter/attack aircraft.
- Knowledge of safety, tool control, foreign object damage, hazardous material, quality, and security programs.
- Willingness to accommodate a heavy travel schedule with very short notice (more than 50% travel).
- US citizenship required; must obtain an Interim/Secret clearance.
- FAA aircraft and power plant mechanic license is desirable.
- Proficiency with Lockheed Martin’s F‑35 nose‑to‑tail maintenance concept.
- Experience with low‑observable/structures maintenance.
- Avionics systems maintenance experience.
- Weapons and egress systems maintenance experience.
This position requires a government security clearance. US citizenship is mandatory.
