Job Description
Position Summary In this role, you will perform construction management and oversight of project schedule and control functions. You will perform schedule and cost reporting and forecasting on a major transportation project in Tucson, Arizona. You will monitor and report on work progress full-time and advise parties accordingly to ensure compliance with project milestones.
Position Duties- Develop, review, and understand contract requirements for the baseline schedule to ensure compliance and assist in establishing controls and criteria for schedule development, monitoring, and reporting.
- Create summary-level schedule graphics for reporting purposes.
- Attend project meetings and collaborate with the project team to identify critical and near‑critical sequences of work toward the achievement of project milestones.
- Determine logical and reasonable schedule constraints through discussions with task owners and teams.
- Monitor the allocation of resources (cost, labor, or material) within a fully resource‑loaded project schedule to assess and report on work in place and develop cash flow forecast reports and resource histograms.
- Evaluate critical and near‑critical path activity sequences.
- Assess or validate actual progress based on input from an interdisciplinary team.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management required.
- 5+ years of experience in the preparation and analysis of construction schedules required; planning and scheduling/project controls/program controls on multiple sides of the business (e.g., consultant, owner, owner rep, contract/architect, contractor, engineer) preferred.
- Hands‑on experience using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of transit projects, such as highways, roads, and bridges, is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the preparation and development of resource‑loaded design and construction schedules using the Critical Path Method (CPM) required.
- Relevant construction scheduling experience in planning, scheduling, expediting, maintaining, and reporting the progress/status of work required.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills required.
- Understanding of construction and construction means and methods required.
- Must be an excellent multi‑tasker, detail‑orientated, independent self‑starter with good writing skills who can also verbally communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
$120,000 – $150,000 a year
Additional RequirementsPhysical:
Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive:
Problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
