IPS is seeking an Entry‑Level CAD Designer to support electrical manufacturing operations by developing electrical drawings, panel layouts, wiring schematics, and production documentation. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone who has completed formal CAD, drafting, engineering technology, or related technical coursework and is looking to launch a career in electrical manufacturing. We provide hands‑on training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow alongside experienced designers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain positive working relationships with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams.
  • Produce high-quality work accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in developing and revising electrical drawings, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and fabrication packages using CAD software.
  • Support engineers and designers in creating manufacturing documentation and production drawings.
  • Revise drawings based on engineering markups, customer comments, and production requirements.
  • Ensure drawings comply with company standards, manufacturing processes, and customer specifications.
  • Support panel shop personnel by answering drawing‑related questions and incorporating approved changes.
  • Continuously develop CAD, electrical design, and manufacturing knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a certificate, technical program, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in CAD Drafting, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of technical drawings and drafting principles.
  • Familiarity with CAD software through education, coursework, internships, or personal projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn electrical design and manufacturing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar drafting software through school projects, internships, or previous employment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, control panels, and electrical schematics.
  • Exposure to industrial manufacturing or construction environments.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
