As a Mechanical Design Engineer I here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be part of the Glendale Space Technologies team, which includes high reliability momentum control, isolation, and Human Space systems. You will support the business by delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers. You will work alongside some of the world’s most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation Control Momentum Gyroscopes by designing, testing and validating products/processes from prototype to market.
You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs. You will interact with internal and external customers to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications. You will report directly to our Sr Systems Engineering Manager and you’ll work 100% onsite at our Glendale, AZ location.
- Work with a team of engineers in the design and support of hardware for space application, supporting ongoing production related to Honeywell's Momentum Controls Systems product lines.
- Involved with design, modification, and test of Control Moment gyros and authoring of related technical documentation.
- Provide written reports and oral presentations to program or engineering management to explain technical approaches and project status.
- Travel:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- Academic, internship, project or professional experience in mechanical engineering
- Bachelor of Science of Science Mechanical Engineering
- Expertise in Production Support, Design and Analysis of Space Hardware
- Strong mechanical design and analysis capability along with good communication skills
- Fluent in Microsoft Office tools, Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and Power Point
- Expert with modeling tools such as NX
- An understanding of Spacecraft hardware including Momentum devices
- Work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels
- Demonstrated experience working as a member of a team and must adapt well to a changing environment
