EPCOR is looking to bring on a temporary Analyst Capital Governance and Reporting to our growing team in Glendale, Arizona for 2027 with the possibility of going permanent.
This is a highly visible role, working alongside company leaders as the Capital Governance and Reporting Subject Matter Expert for our major capital projects across Epcor USA. This role is a uniquely engineered role, combining financial capital governance, compliance, and project management. This person will have the opportunity to assist in the design, develop ment , and implement ation of processes, procedures, and tools for capital governance, and have the opportunity to shape the management and reporting of capital projects .
Whatyou'd be responsible for
- Assist the Senior Analyst in the d evelop ment , implement ation and review of Capital Governance & Reporting processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensure mitigation of risks.
- Provide updated guidance and applicable training to Project Managers on a periodic basis.
- M onitor, measure and report regularly on financial performance metrics specifically related to capital project delivery, governance and reporting and provide recommendations for future changes to metrics .
- Assist in development of a capital project dashboard to facilitate more effective project management reporting
- Assist in the annual Post Implementation Review process and submission for Epcor USA, facilitate periodic capital steering committee meetings , and drive other ad-hoc capital initiatives (as requested by Epcor USA Leadership).
- L ead the consolidation of all capital inputs for the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes through assistance to project managers , along with the capital portions of the rate case applications and regulatory compliance filings e.g. Annual Reports.
- Enhance on-going effective positioning and appropriate relationships between the Capital Governance & Reporting function and other departments within Epcor USA, and in the rest of Epcor Utilities Inc.
- In coordination with EPCOR’s Capital Delivery Model and O rganization P roject M anagement initiatives, develop, enhance and maintain the processes and systems necessary to develop and maintain strong capital programs and appropriate reporting (SharePoint, Oracle Projects, Capex DB, etc.).
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance .
- CPA, or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with capital projects, project management and working with engineering and operations teams in the projects.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite , with demonstrated skillset in Excel , Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Fixed Assets, Oracle Project Management or other fixed asset management software.
- Experience with difficult reconciliations; fulfilling audit requests; working independently and with others to identify issues and implement solutions.
- In depth working knowledge of US GAAP , particularly as it relates to rate regulated industries , SOX, and Capital Compliance required. Knowledge of differences between US GAAP and IFRS would be desirable.
- Knowledge of regulatory information requirements and some appreciation of customer rate setting environment.
- Able to develop, implement accounting governance policies and procedures.
- Able to prepare, analyze, and accurately present stakeholders with financial capital asset data and depreciation for complex entities working with a fixed asset sub-ledger and general ledger.
- Strong leadership skills with an emphasis on proactive initiative, team building, knowledge sharing, and decision making.
- Detail oriented and collaborative problem solver with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams with varying professional backgrounds and areas of expertise with resilience and resourcefulness.
- Knowledge of water and / or wastewater utility and or shared service, or multi-company corporation industry desired.
