Job Summary:
The Patient Account Representative provides administrative and billing support within the Central Billing Department. This role is responsible for managing patient accounts, processing insurance claims, and ensuring accurate reimbursement from commercial payers and Medicaid. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing and a strong understanding of third-party payer requirements. Key Responsibilities:

Process and follow up on insurance claims for commercial payers and Medicaid.
Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and remittance advice.
Ensure accurate billing in accordance with payer guidelines and third-party operating procedures.
Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and claim denials.
Maintain accurate patient account documentation and records.
Communicate with insurance companies and internal departments regarding claim status and payment issues.
Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word) for reporting and documentation.
Provide general administrative support to the billing department as needed.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1 3 years of experience in medical billing, patient accounts, or healthcare administrative support.
Understanding of billing requirements for commercial payers and Medicaid.
Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party payer procedures.
Ability to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and remittance advice.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
