As a Special Procedures Technologist (SPT) within our Cardiac Cath Lab at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center (Chandler) there are exciting opportunities to be a part of the health care transformation. This Cath Lab Tech will perform a variety of roles, including monitoring and procedure scrubbing, as well as assisting physicians and nursing. We offer a wide variety of cardiac procedures, including diagnostic, structural, and electrophysiology, just to name a few. Our Cardiovascular Techs are responsible for many duties, including medical imaging responsibilities, scrubbing, circulating and monitoring during the procedure. POSITION

SUMMARY

This position, under the direction of a qualified physician, assists in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures on patients. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide optimal ca retreatment to patient population.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of a physician, assists in performing all diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures including all types of structural heart and hemodynamic support cases and/ or complex EP cases to includes case types such as advanced cardiac procedures such as TAVR, TMVR, Mitra Clip, Impella 5.0, Tandem, ECMO and pediatric specialty) to treat heart disease in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Performs/reviews a baseline patient evaluation as defined by scope of practice and facility. Evaluates patients’ response to diagnosis, interventional maneuvers and medications during procedures. In EP Specialty, demonstrates knowledge, ability and skill to support complex EP cases (e.g. epicardial AF and VT ablations, stereotaxis, bipolar, venous alcohol ablations, leadless pacemaker).
