Job Description

Under little to no supervision, the computer programmer writes, modifies, and troubleshoots software used in the command and control of optical tracking mounts. Tests and corrects programs, and prepares instructions for operators who control the system during operations.

In addition, the programmer troubleshoots general computer hardware issues such as motherboard and power supply, replaces CMOS batteries, and maintains general knowledge of networking, sub‑netting, and basic troubleshooting and network set up. Builds CAT 5E/CAT 6 cables, troubleshoots software issues within in‑house development programs, maintains records and logbooks, and performs other duties as needed to ensure completion of test mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

Pay Rate: $27.07

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studios, Microsoft Office, Windows 7, proficiency in C, C++, C#, or equivalent object‑oriented programming languages.
  • Must have (or acquire within 6 months of hire) a Security+ Certification and a Computing Environment Certification per Network Enterprise Center (NEC) requirements.
  • Must have one of the following: an Associate's degree in a technical or computer‑related field OR 2 years directly related C# or C++ experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
  • Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 °F.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to climb ladders safely.
  • Must be capable of kneeling, squatting, bending and standing while performing duties.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for KTM Maintenance.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
  • Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
  • Must have a well‑mannered customer service attitude.
  • Must be willing to cross‑train in other areas.
  • Must use "down‑time" effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.
  • Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.
  • Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability.

Additional Desirable

Qualifications:

  • Current Secret Security Clearance.
  • Knowledge of YPG ranges.
  • Experience in optical tracking mount operations.
  • Knowledge of writing low‑level programs, such as device drivers, controllers, etc.
  • Knowledge of digital servo controllers.
  • Strong electronics repair and mechanical aptitude.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must thickness to be U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain or maintain a security clearance prior to employment and throughout tenure.
  • Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
  • Relevance of experience to be determined by hiring manager.
