Summary:
The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and improving workplace safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture. This role involves developing safety procedures, conducting audits, training employees, and managing safety records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Lead and support safety investigations, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections of the facility, equipment, and work practices.
- Develop and update safety procedures, policies, and training programs.
- Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Perform job hazard analyses, ergonomic assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Oversee safety equipment inventory and environmental monitoring.
- Manage workers’ compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs.
- Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and new hire safety orientations.
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and reporting in safety management software.
- Support continuous improvement projects to reduce workplace risks.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on safety best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment.
- Professional safety certification (SMS, GSP, ASP, or CSP) required.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
- OSHA training certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
