Job Title: Safety Manager

Summary:

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and improving workplace safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture. This role involves developing safety procedures, conducting audits, training employees, and managing safety records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Lead and support safety investigations, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections of the facility, equipment, and work practices.
  • Develop and update safety procedures, policies, and training programs.
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Perform job hazard analyses, ergonomic assessments, and risk evaluations.
  • Oversee safety equipment inventory and environmental monitoring.
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs.
  • Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and new hire safety orientations.
  • Maintain safety documentation, records, and reporting in safety management software.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to reduce workplace risks.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on safety best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment.
  • Professional safety certification (SMS, GSP, ASP, or CSP) required.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
  • OSHA training certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
