Assembly

& Test Operator – 1st shift (Monday – Friday, 3 pm – 11 pm) Essential Functions

With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for routine assembling/testing, lock wiring and final product detailing functions. Perform basic assembly and test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures and inspection measurement equipment in a production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Hand deburr pieces.
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated according to the calibration schedule.
  • Produce and inspect assemblies to meet full specification compliance.
  • Rework malfunctions revealed by test data.
  • Record test results on data forms.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications and quality directives.
  • Observe all safety rules and maintain a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area.
  • May be required to run an automatic weld machine.
  • Execute any other related responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of assembly/test or related experience, or demonstrated ability to perform the described responsibilities.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Basic mathematical calculation ability.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
  • Effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team player, able to work effectively with others.
Physical Requirements

Typical physical demands include:

  • Use of calibrated tools, hand tools, and inspection tools.
  • Operation of welding, machining, inspection, air‑and‑turbine (A&T), and nondestructive testing (NDT) equipment, as well as general office equipment and computers.
  • Lifting ranges from less than 5 lb to over 50 lb, including handling of small components to heavy boxes.
  • Positions such as standing, lifting, walking, climbing, sitting, pulling, pushing and working in cramped or confined spaces.
  • Exposure to fumes, noise, grease, oil, water, dust, shavings, dirt, heat, smoke, vibration and typical office conditions.
