Commissioning Manager - Data Center

I’m partnered with a data center owner delivering multiple hyperscale builds across California and Phoenix, and they are looking for a Commissioning Manager to lead delivery across the programme.

This is an owner-side role reporting to the Director of Commissioning, with responsibility across large-scale data center developments.

This portfolio includes three sites in California and a major Phoenix development and many more sites. One Phase 1 project is a 250MW hyperscale campus on a 100-acre site, planned across five data halls, with construction having started within the past two months and a projected five-year buildout.

  Phoenix, AZ
• Up to 50% travel across project sites
• Phoenix base: up to $180k with minor flexibility
• Long-term hyperscale data center programme

• Lead and support commissioning strategy across hyperscale data center developments
• Develop commissioning plans, procedures, schedules and reporting processes through turnover
• Coordinate third-party CxAs, including onboarding, documentation, field activities and contract requirements
• Oversee mechanical, electrical and controls commissioning to validate integration, functionality and performance
• Work with construction, design, procurement, QA/QC, GCs, MEP contractors, vendors and owner-side stakeholders
• Support testing, issue resolution, corrective actions and handover readiness
• Review commissioning documentation, test records, deficiency tracking and turnover deliverables
• Provide commissioning progress, risk and issue updates to project leadership

• Proven Commissioning Manager or Cx Lead experience on hyperscale / large-scale data center projects
• Direct ownership of commissioning execution, not only owner-side coordination
• Strong experience leading Cx teams, contractors and vendors through testing and turnover
• Comfortable managing multiple active sites and travelling up to 50%
