Job Description
Job Purpose:
Major responsibilities include delegating work responsibilities to fellow operators in the respective areas. Responsible for troubleshooting line issues to determine root cause and work closely with engineering to determine solutions. Determine opportunities for improvements in existing processes and operations. Check SPC to make sure the process is in control and assist engineers and technicians to improve the process and yield. Report data and prepare shipments.
Assist in updating documentation to ensure all production processes are accurately documented and controlled. Monitor yields on a daily basis.
Duties:
- Familiar with all wafer process, assembly, inspection, testing, lensing, and burn-in processes on all production lines.
- Ability to effectively monitor throughput.
- Ability to enter data into Excel spreadsheets and manufacturing systems databases.
- Attend production meetings as required.
- Monitor attendance and tardiness of operators.
- Delegate work assignments within the department; train personnel as required.
- Assist in the preparation of annual performance reviews.
- Assist in planning and coordinating shipping requirements.
- Check SPC to make sure the process is in control.
- Assist engineers and technicians to continually improve production processes and yields.
- Ensure that all documentation is updated and controlled.
- Ability to communicate well with others. Communicate important issues to the next level Manager.
- Track and monitor yields on production lines.
- Track work in process levels and ensure that all operators are hitting daily production requirements.
- Train operators to follow written procedures. Audit the production line to verify that procedures are being followed.
Skills/
Qualifications:
Detail-oriented, mechanical dexterity. Minimum one year experience in the semiconductor industry; three years preferred. Must have excellent communication skills. General computer proficiency is required. Work in a class 1000 clean room environment. Must wear bunny suit with face and head mask and gloves for entire production shift. Safety glasses are required for some operations. Stand or sit at work station for the entire production shift.
Education/Experience
B.S. or M.S. Degree in Engineering or related subject or relevant industry experience. 1-5 years of experience with manufacturing and characterizing high-power laser diodes is preferred. Experience calculating and monitoring yields.
