We’re an established mega-church community in Glendale, AZ, gathering for weekend services (Saturday 5pm, Sunday 9:15am & 11am) and serving our neighbors through our Food & Clothing Bank, Medical Clinic, and more.

Position Summary

The Youth Director provides leadership, organization, and pastoral care support for VCNP’s 6-12 Grade ministry. This role focuses on building a healthy, consistent, and welcoming environment where students can grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and take next steps toward discipleship.

Next Gen Pastor

Directs:

Youth Coordinator (full time), Youth Admin Assistant (part time)

Coordinates with:

Grade Leaders (23+ volunteers)

Key Responsibilities 1. Weekly Youth Ministry Leadership
  • Coordinate and oversee weekly youth gatherings
  • Plan gatherings that include worship, teaching, discussion, and community-building
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students
  • Maintain consistent communication with students and families
2. Volunteer Leadership & Development
  • Identify, Recruit, Train, Deploy, Monitor, and Nurture (IRTDMN) youth volunteers
  • Foster a healthy volunteer culture marked by faithfulness, teachability, and consistency
  • Lead regular volunteer touchpoints and team meetings
  • Partner with church leadership to identify and develop emerging leaders
3. Student Discipleship & Care
  • Build relational connections with students through presence and accessibility
  • Provide appropriate pastoral care alongside supervising pastors
  • Encourage participation in church-wide discipleship pathways and events
  • Help students transition into Young Adult ministry upon graduation
4. Ministry Administration
  • Manage weekly logistics including schedules, communication, supplies, and planning
  • Coordinate events such as camps, connection nights, and special gatherings
  • Maintain attendance tracking and follow-up systems
  • Collaborate with Communications for promotion and parent communication
5. Integration into Church Life
  • Partner with Vineyard Kids, Young Adults, and Weekend Services teams
  • Help students serve and engage in the broader church community
  • Support alignment between Youth Ministry and VCNP’s discipleship vision
6. Anything else assigned by your supervisor Qualifications
  • Demonstrated personal faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with the beliefs and values of VCNP
  • Prior experience serving in youth ministry, or similar
  • Experience working with or leading volunteers strongly preferred
  • Proven reliability and ability to follow through on responsibilities and commitments
  • Ability to work under supervision and within an established ministry vision and leadership structure
  • Strong interpersonal maturity and appropriate judgment when working with students and families
  • Must pass a background check and comply with all VCNP safety and child protection policies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute weekly youth gatherings and ministry events
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, including scheduling, communication, and follow-up
  • Ability to recruit, coordinate, and manage volunteer teams
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with students, parents, volunteers, and staff
  • Proficiency with basic digital tools (email, planning software, church database systems, and communication platforms)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced ministry environment
  • Ability to follow established ministry vision, policies, and safety procedures with consistency and attention to detail
