For newborns facing serious health challenges, Banner Thunderbird offers a 45-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists, nurses, neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and respiratory therapists partner to provide the highest level of care available in the West Valley to our newborn patients. Very premature babies are assigned a developmental specialist. These individuals are specially trained registered nurses who evaluate each baby’s unique strengths and challenges, then develop an individualized care plan to get baby strong and healthy enough to go home.

To encourage bonding, parents of babies in our NICU can enjoy unlimited visiting hours. When they need a break, families can retreat to the NICU Family Lounge, featuring a couch, television, computer and a kitchen area with refrigerator, microwave and toaster.
** Your responsibilities as an Associate Director may include
** providing education/support to staff, flexing schedules, positively impacting patient relations and physician relations, and managing/coordinating equipment. You will work in a fun place with a strong, cohesive team that is close and who work together to impact their own environment. The patient focus, teamwork mindset, and a collaborative unit are key pluses to join our unit.

This is a Monday through Friday

POSITION SUMMARY  This position provides managerial and clinical support to patients and staff. Uses depth and breadth of clinical management knowledge to ensure the provision of high quality, safe, and cost effective patient care. Demonstrates clinical expertise and oversees the leadership of clinical, financial, and personnel management of the assigned areas.
CORE FUNCTIONS  
1. Manages and facilitates patient centered nursing care for designated patient populations by serving as a real-time clinical expert for unit staff and physicians for escalated problem-solving on patients, processes, and family issues.
