Equivalent to a full‑time day shift. The position includes an 18% night shift differential and a flat $3 weekend differential when applicable. Shift scheduling can be performed via the institutional self‑scheduling tool.

This role assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice, utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. The position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by the incumbent or under their direction, employing specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to assess data and provide appropriate care for patients’ physical and developmental needs.

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; and report abnormal findings to physicians.
• Formulate a plan of care, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and interdisciplinary input; set realistic, measurable goals with patient and family; revise plans as patient needs change.
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health‑care team activities; comply with policies and regulatory requirements; and communicate patient status accurately to other caregivers.
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; revise the plan of care as needed; track progress toward goals and expected outcomes.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; ensure documentation is legible, timely, and reflects objective/subjective data and interventions.
• Provide care based on the best evidence available; participate in research activities and shared leadership within the unit; mentor and precept others when appropriate.
• Contribute to society through activities that improve patient outcomes; participate in professional organizations and improve national nursing quality indicators.
• Supervise staff and manage workflow in the department when required.
• Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts regarding patient care; provide spiritual support in collaboration with clergy and other providers.

Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure. BLS certification is required. Must have prior RN NICU experience and follow all regulatory and institutional competency requirements, including annual validations. Any additional certifications or continuing education needed for the specialty area is required, and applicants must meet state‑specific clearance card requirements as applicable to behavioral or home‑health roles.

Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
