We're looking for a registered nurse who is patient and compassionate to provide nursing services to participants primarily assigned to a specific clinic. May cover other clinics. Services include engagement, assessment, triage, treatment planning, medication administration and related skills, phlebotomy, education, and supportive psychotherapy. Has an assigned caseload and is available as needed to any participant assigned to their clinic or covering clinic.

Participates in utilization management and quality improvement activities as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as nurse to assigned participants. Performing all duties required of nurses in this treatment system.
  • Always covering other nurses and medical technicians in their clinic as needed. May cover other clinics as well.
  • Documenting all activities in the electronic medical record and according to policy. Appropriate templates are completed using concise, comprehensive, and objective language in support of proper billing codes. Use of paper documentation on approved forms may be required under limited circumstances (e.g. internet outage).
  • Following evidence-based practices and adhering to all policies, standard operating procedures, and protocols. Practicing according to the Copa recovery model and principles; knowing and practicing engagement skills including motivational interviewing; and assisting participants to define and achieve their own recovery goals.
  • Performing nursing and triage assessments as medically indicated and completing transfer summaries for continuity of care where necessary.
  • Reporting potential barriers to nursing care and any areas needing improvement to the lead nurse. Completing all necessary education and required trainings on time.
  • Performing other duties as assigned during unique clinical situations or with other treatment populations consistent with license and scope of practice.

Qualifications include:

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in an accredited nursing program with licensure by the Arizona state board of nursing as a registered nurse.
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience as a registered nurse.
  • Behavioral health experience with adults with serious mental illnesses or children or adolescents with serious emotional disturbances or developmentally disabled community-based experience preferred.
  • Vehicle, valid AZ driver's license, state minimum insurance coverage, and ability to meet and maintain the company's acceptable driving requirements.
