Certified Patient Care Assistant

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in the Neonatal ICU is seeking experienced full-time Certified Patient Care Assistants. This requires having an active CNA or LNA and/or 1+ year of direct patient care experience. For newborns facing serious health challenges, Banner Thunderbird offers a 17-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists, nurses, neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and respiratory therapists' partner to provide the highest level of care available in the West Valley to our newborn patients.

Very premature babies are assigned a developmental specialist. These individuals are specially trained registered nurses who evaluate each baby's unique strengths and challenges, then develop an individualized care plan to get baby strong and healthy enough to go home. To encourage bonding, parents of babies in our NICU can enjoy unlimited visiting hours.

In your role as a Certified Patient Care Assistant at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in the Neonatal ICU, you will help provide basic nursing assistance to ICU patients. Duties can vary from vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate), assisting with patient hygiene and movement, and generally monitoring the patient and providing updates to clinical staff. Full-Time Night Shifts Available (3
-12 hour shifts from 6pm-6:30am)

  • There are no set days you can be scheduled each week.
  • You can utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage.
  • Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role.
  • Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-Night Shift differential when applicable
